Like the instrument, Laskey Tuba Mouthpieces are a towering presence in low brass playing. With a thicker sound and more complex geometry, every aspect of a Laskey Tuba Mouthpiece, from the iconic rim to the exterior shape and cup, has been carefully designed to provide clear articulation, precise slotting, and crisp response.

The Helleberg-style H Series features a relatively straight-sided cup that blends into a concave funnel as it enters the throat. This model is the preferred choice for piston valve tubas.

After testing numerous tuba makes and models, two shank sizes were developed to meet the needs of a wide variety of mouthpiece receivers: American (US) shanks fit most American made and styled instruments, while European (EU) shanks fit many European made and styled instruments, with the exception being most 6/4 CC tubas, which require the EU shank.

American (US) Tuba Shank Measurements:
Top: 15.44mm/0.608"
Bottom: 13.31mm/0.524"
Taper Angle: 1.41 degrees

European (EU) Tuba Shank Measurements:
Top: 15.85mm/0.624"
Bottom: 13.77mm/0.542"
Taper Angle: 1.37 degrees

Bought it after practicing in the music store and this mouth piece works very well with flexibility playing on both tuba and sousaphone.

A bit early - after two days and a total of some 45min of practice - but I really like it. Looks like it does everything I expected.

I recently got my first ever Laskey 30H mouthpiece. I feel that it’s perfectly made for my Yamaha YFB621 F tuba. I noticed an incredible change in my playing immediately. It makes my sound on the F tuba sound massive! On my Meinl Weston 2155 5/4 CC tuba, it makes my sound more locked in with the least effort! Totally loving it! These results are making me curious to try out the 28H and the 32H models as well. Overall, a huge worthwhile investment! Highly recommend!!

Purchased for my son playing tuba at junior high school wind orchestra. Here are comments from my son: "Though I've just received the mouthpiece and tried buzzing, I found the sensation touching my lips is excellent. I'm looking forward to play my school tuba tomorrow."

I'm only in high school, but I have been first chair in all-state and district honor bands multiple times now, so I figured I'd at least have something to say, just not professionally. I swapped to this mouthpiece coming from a basic Helleberg 7b, so this was my first mouthpiece that I actually looked a good bit into before purchasing. As soon as I started using this mouthpiece, I noticed an immediate difference. My tone quality was much easier to work on, and I found so much more ease in reaching my far registers, especially on the low end. I'm very satisfied with the results of this product, and would definitely recommend to anyone with some experience. I think it would be a bit more difficult to start off with the tuba on this mouthpiece, simply because of the larger cup, but I would certainly recommend this mouthpiece to anyone who has a small bit of experience with the tuba.

I can feel the quality when I play with this brand of mouthpiece

After 40 years of playing flute, I recently decided to pick up the tuba! Initially I borrowed a standard 24AW student mouthpiece. After much research, I purchased the Laskey 28H mouthpiece. The difference is absolutely amazing! I am extremely impressed with the response of this mouthpiece as well as the feel. The fit is perfect as I can play for well over an hour without any fatigue. I plan to eventually purchase the 30H as well. This is an excellent product and I highly recommend it.

The 30H works great with my Zo Thunderbird 6/4! I can really punch pedals effortlessly with it.

Just received my 28H Tuba mouthpiece today. I am very pleased with it! I noticed an immediate difference in the response and tone quality compared to the other mouthpiece which I have been using. Looking forward to many years of use with this! Jerome is a pleasure to work with, and I appreciate his expertise and experience. He is very professional and will help you find the right mouthpiece to fit your playing preferences.

I'm very satisfied with the Laskey 30H. It's a really comfortable mouthpiece with a smooth finish. It provides a deep and rich sound on all the range. A true work of art.

The mouth piece is perfect for my daughter's B&S Model MRP-F and she will be using it for the VYSO (Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra) concerto competition!

It’s my first experiencie with Laskey Tuba Mouthpiece. Easy sound, emission and flexibility.

Doesn't have the bite in the low register that my Giddings and Webster has.

Store owner replied: Hi Brian, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please feel free to touch base with us at sales@laskey.com if you would like recommendations on a different Laskey Mouthpiece that should suit your musical needs better.

This mouthpiece is great for all registers and it feels amazing.

Really comfortable mouthpiece. Very happy with. Nice a even through all registers.

Great product! Not my first Laskey mouthpiece, been playing them since Scott started his company. Cheers

I ordered a 28H and 30H - for my F tuba and for my CC tuba. I use the smaller rim on my F and larger rim on my CC. I also got a 28G and 30G. It’s hard to choose which I like better between the H and the G. I feel like both have their own applications in which they would be useful. The H produces a bit of a mellower, rounder sound with less of an edge. The G is noticeably brighter, but in a really cool way that I like a lot. I intended on only keeping 2 of these mouthpieces but I will likely keep all 4 as they are awesome. Thank you Laskey for continuing to produce these top of the line mouthpieces. I was concerned they wouldn’t be as good as when Scott Laskey was making them (RIP Scott!) but they have exceeded my expectations. Whether you prefer the G or the H, or another model, buy a Laskey mouthpiece. They’re the best.

I truly enjoy the 32H, my playing has been so much clearer and warmer since switching to this current mouthpiece. Can’t wait to get another for my other horn.

Tuba Classic H Series

I really love the US shank 30H! After playing a CONN Helleburg for years the 30H on my EBC632 has more fullness and warmth of tone from top to bottom. The response is phenomenal as well. I would highly recommend this mouthpiece!

Tuba Classic H Series

Blown away by the 28H. The projection is amazing and a good sound with a good core to it. No ‘woolyness’ and focused in all registers - something I’d struggled with other brands. It looks quality too.

Tuba Classic H Series

The 30H is my go-to mouthpiece for 6/4 piston tubas. Fat, deep sound to power the bottom of any ensemble but still has a strong core that can project through any thick orchestration.

Tuba Classic H Series

I haven't had much time to use this mouthpiece yet, but my experience so far has been pretty good. I don't feel like it restricts my ability to play in the low, middle, or high registers of the instrument, and I feel like it is actually helping to make those feel more comfortable. The mouthpiece itself sits comfortably on my face, and doesn't bother me after playing. So far I have had no issues with this product. It seems well made, and I am looking forward to getting to use it more.

I got my tuba and Thursday and went into Heritage Music on Saturday to get a mouthpiece. The employees were patient even though it was clear I was no tuba expert, and they worked with me to almost half an hour trying different mouthpieces to find one that would be a good all around mouthpiece to learn on and that felt good to my face. We wound up going with the 30H, and it feels great to get started learning my new to me horn with a good mouthpiece I know will last.

Tuba Classic H Series

I have been playing the 28 H for a time with my Eb Tuba and produce excelente sound , clear and with power in all register. This one the 30 H I tried for a student of mine. The sound is clear , with a lot of harmonics, beside they is very comfortable and the percent inner size for my lips.
